        Introductory Ayurveda Workshop
 What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is Sanskrit for “the knowledge of life or daily living”.  It is the 5,000-year-old natural healing system of India and often called yoga's sister science.  According to Ayurveda, most disease is traceable to incorrect diet.  Although right diet may not be enough to cure diseases, food can act as a healing force and can be the foundation of a healthy and happy life.

Each individual has a unique constitution, or dosha, made up of a combination of the five elements:  ether, air, fire, water, and earth.  Ayurveda can tell us what food items are best for each constitution.  In Ayurveda, food is medicine as well as nourishment and what one eats, how one eats, and when one eats are important. Identifying your dosha can not only lead to balancing the elements in your diet, but also your lifestyle and your physical activities in order to maintain optimum health and heal illness.
In this introductory workshop, we will cover practical ways to use Ayurveda:
Discovering your unique constitution – your dosha
The foods and diet system to balance your body, mind, and emotions
Essential oils that balance your unique dosha
The types of yoga and physical activity for balancing your dosha

 Other Workshops with Marla:

“Hands on” learning Ayurvedic scalp/face massage, Marma (vital energy) points, and introduction to the chakras.

Cooking and Nutrition! We will learn to make 2 dishes, and discuss nutrition from an Ayurvedic perspective. Learn the importance diet plays in
our lives!
