Feature Story
                    Reflexology
Our feet are walked on every day, bare the weight of our bodies and get stuff into shoes and other foot wear.
In order to treat and pamper our feet, foot reflexology is one of the most relaxing, energizing and pampering forms of healing and
relaxing.  This is done by gentle stimulation of different areas of the feet (also hands and ears) to promote healing through the
meridians that connect to the body’s organs along with enhancing the elimination of toxins.

FOOT REFLEXOLOGY:  is an ancient art practiced by early Egyptians. Foot Reflexology is a science founded on the basis that
areas of the feet are comprised of zones and reflex areas that correspond to all glands, organs, and bodily systems. Foot
reflexology is a technique whereby pressure is applied to these areas resulting in stress reduction by using thumb,
finger and hand methods. Using foot reflexology promotes physiological improvements in the body.  Foot Reflexology restores
natural balance and revitalization.

            Reflexology will provide the following:
Improved circulation:  Our circulation is improved when the stress in our systems is released and we are able to relax.  The
oxygen and nutrients in the blood is able to flow more freely and increase the function of the cardiovascular vessels.
Release of Toxins: Since reflexology works with improving the health of the organs, it also helps to release the toxins in the body
and increase the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the organs in distress.  Sometimes when working on the feet the practitioner and
client can feel crystals in the feet being broken up, which helps to release those toxins.  It is recommended that you do not drink
alcohol within 24 hours of a reflexology treatment: the client could get quit sick during the session (a disbelieving client is now a
believer).
Reduces stress and provides a deep relaxation:  Many times a client will fall asleep during a session, even the most chatty
person who has a hard time to relax.  Over 7,000 nerves are stimulated during a reflexology treatment, opening and clearing the
neural pathways.  Each part of the body is worked with, reenergized and feeling better after a good nights sleep.  The energy is
the body starts to flow a lot freer and reaching area that have been restricted before the treatment.

Healing with the clients has been seen in the following ways during sessions:
1.  One client has MS and is able to move her one leg a lot more freely after a session.  This client has also felt more peaceful
and an increased flow of energy.
2.  One client had the feeling of walking on clouds after the session.  Her feet were her main form of transportation.
3.  Another clients bowels functioned more freely.
4.  A client who rarely stopped to do something for her self, chatted constantly for the first little while then just fell right asleep,
and was totally refreshed afterwards.

Reading a section in “Feet First” by Laura Norman and Thomas Cowan, reconfirmed exactly how I felt during reflexology treatments.
Even though I love practicing Reiki and other forms of healing, I find doing a reflexology session the most relaxing of them all.  I am
able to sit down and just get immersed into the treatment and smile as soon as the client falls asleep.

Diagnosis with reflexology is forbidden, like many of the other wholistic practices.  If a practitioner feels that something may be
wrong, he / she can only recommend that the client get a check up from their family doctor.
In summary:  Reflexology is an amazing form of healing physically, mentally and spiritually.  It can help to sooth the tired over
worked feet and pamper the one that walks on those wonderful feet.

Health Corner
(how to keep your family allergy & toxin free)
During the week of September 22nd, 2008, there had been mentioned on the news, how perfumes worn by pregnant mothers can
effect unborn children, especially boys.  Studies are showing that baby boys are not developing properly, and the genital area is
being affected.  I truly believe that the perfumes and colognes worn by males and females can have an effect on both sexes of
unborn and living children and could lead to sensitivities.
When ever someone comes into a room with a perfume, hair spray or cologne on, many people will get headaches and even have
problems with their breathing as the airways tighten.  Many clinics, court rooms and other public areas are starting to request that
you do not wear anything with a scent when you enter the building.
Please: even if you have the most wonderful scented perfume or cologne, think of the others that are in your area.  We do not
need to change our scent to be womanly or manly.  Your presence in itself will reflect the you that your are, and that in it self is enough.

 (herbs)
It is getting closer to colds & Flu time:  There are many people who greatly rely on Echinacea during the fall and winter time,
as the herb has done wonders for their health.  Please get advice, if you are considering taking any herbs full time.  What I understand,
is that we do need to give our bodies the break from the herbs in order for the body to learn to take over.  Herbs have amazing
healing abilities, but so do our bodies once we get the immune system built up again.  Each herb is different and the duration of
use depends on the herb.

Echinacea should be used with caution by people who are allergic to ragweed or to plants in the sunflower family.  Should not be
taken for prolonged periods be people with autoimmune disorders.

We are looking for a dentist in Western Canada who is practicing in a less toxic method or are interested in doing so. If you could make a recommendation or refer us, we would be grateful.
Dr. Terry Clark is a Holistic dentist : with more than 40 yrs. experience.  He is looking to eventually replace himself and to train several other dentists his technique, in a very busy practice.
How is this different from "normal" dentistry?   It is less non-toxic to the person and less damaging to the teeth.  Dr. Clark has healthier alternatives for almost every conventional dental procedure- using the latest technology!
Dr. Clark is giving preference to people who are sick with auto immune disease (who can't go to a regular dentist) and those with environmental sensitivities. He desperately needs an Associate who is interested in living healthy and interested in less toxic ways of doing dentistry. There is an opportunity for partnership...and other business arrangements.  To see more about Dr. Clark  and his practice on video, go to Introduction:               http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-1HBifs-9M  Equipment and Procedures: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLZxF6scGdI
