January 2010                                                                                                           Issue # 40

Welcome to 2010 and New Beginnings.
2010 is a New Year and You can write your own book of what you will be doing and achieving.
2009 was a year of letting go for many, and opening doors to new experiences and opportunities.
I am excited to go forward into a New Year and working with all our wonderful members and soon
to be new members.
Happy New Year and all the best for everyone.

Feature Modality

House & Business Clearings:
Many times I am asked if house clearing is house cleaning.  It is in a sense: the clearing of energies that are in our homes that are not there for our highest purpose.  Energies that make us feel uncomfortable and not welcome.

This is what I have found in homes as they were being cleared:
            Imprints caused by:
Emotions of tenants or past tenants:  fear, anger, sadness, anxiety, sorrow
Certain rooms or areas: when a person lives in fear ex: being abused in a certain room, or confrontations in a living room: these rooms need extra clearing and more work.
            Entities or spirits:
Energies:  entities or spirits that are stuck here on the earth: some very obnoxious ones, some that are scared to go to the light (taught beliefs of behavior and acceptance by God), and energies that are hanging around and clinging to the others.

Many times when we live in the homes with low energies, we come to believe that what we feel is normal and it can not be changed.  Whenever the energy is low in my home or that if I can feel entities or spirits that are here and not for my highest good, I do a clearing   Because of being sensitive, it is easier to pick up on the changes.

When ever we move into a new home or old home, or even a business building, the building should be fully cleared with a smudge before moving in.  In one home, I could feel the energy of a contractor in the utility room, and yes we can be affected by that low energy.  Many times it may take an outsider to come in and do the cleaning, as some of the energies seem to become too attached to the occupants of the building.

As I go along with the clearings, there is always something new to learn and experience.  The building is cleared from the bottom to the top, and not one room or closet is missed.  What I enjoy is the after effect and the knowing that all the energy in the home is on a much higher vibration and calmer.

Effects of not having a house cleared or smudged before moving in:
Increased fighting among family members, increased anger, sadness, unwillingness to go into certain rooms, objects being moved or broken and not by family members.   Children and animals get scared and unwilling to be let alone.

In Canada’s Wholistic Directory we have members that provide home, business and area clearings.  Following are our members under those listings, they are here to help us out and provide the support in going forward to better lives and happier homes.

Choosing Joy in the Midst of Crisis

            Qualifications
You may ask what qualifies me as an author in the field of choosing Joy in the Midst of Crisis. I am not an expert. I have simply survived crisis and pass on many techniques that worked.
            Acknowledgement
Let me first acknowledge those reading this who have had crises in their lives: rape, wrongful imprisonment, abandonment, abuse, floods, famine, earthquake, fire, disastrous health or lost a loved one, be it a mate, a sibling or a child.

My crisis was merely financial.  It gives you a perspective, doesn't it?
            Crisis Defined
When we are children, great drama is a skinned knee, being picked last for the team or not making the team at all. As we grow up, our dramas become larger and larger, yet within us is still the small child who skinned a knee. Crisis isn't defined by the externally applied test of severity, but by the internal gauge of our own emotions.

Losing the football game because you fumbled the ball on the tie breaking last three seconds of the game may be equally as devastating as if you had made a bad business decision that resulted in losing your job. We categorize levels of trauma; but to the emotional self, it's all pretty much the same: a massive blow to self worth, lovability, connectedness, abundance or control.
            My Story
I had been a real estate investor.  The Feds changed the law so I was unable to get loans and I needed many. Then I heard "In any moment we can choose joy.  It is always a choice."  I was being served with hundreds of lawsuits. I chose to be happy as the postman delivered a container full of more foreclosure notices. Instead of my embarrassment, I focused on him as he began telling me of his anniversary surprise for his wife.  He was so happy I became happy. I was amazed. Choosing joy worked, for real.

" I have been studying Shamanic Coaching for 3 years now and am embarking on my practicum.  That being said, I need volunteers for FREE drumming sessions.  In these hour long meetings, we do journeys and find power animals.  Also, there is restoration work that can be done to help heal old fears or phobias that follow us on our paths. (how to keep your family allergy & toxin free)

I have a dear friend that has used an inhaler for several years for her allergies.  The last inhaler she bought was over $100.00 for the single unit, and she knew that it was time to find another solution.

What my friend is doing: a drink every morning about 20 minutes before she eats.  This drink is of Bentonite clay and Psyllium Husk.   What this mixture can do is cleanse out the intestines by sucking or absorbing the toxins and then removing them.  There are reports of the mixture removing long black like strings from the intestines, build up of toxins.

This dear friend rarely needs her inhaler now, and her allergies are not as severe.   She has tried a few methods, and this one for the asthma really worked well.

(food alternatives & health)
            Minerals   (part 2 of 4)
In the December 2009 we started a list of vitamins and minerals that are found in food products.  We know that our bodies need these vitamins and minerals, but why? And what do they do?  We will start with the minerals as see what they offer:

Minerals, like vitamins, they function as coenzymes.   Minerals work with our bone structure, blood formation, our cardiovascular system and our nerve function.  We require certain levels of minerals to maintain a proper balance, and the minerals and vitamins work together.  More study and research is being done each day to show how the proper combinations work.  What we will be doing is listing the minerals and noting some of the veggies, fruit and other food supplements that contain the minerals.

In the descriptions of the minerals I have listed the amounts that a Prairie Naturals product has for their daily requirement.

Iodine is a requirement for the proper functioning of the thyroid gland and is used for the goiter.  It also helps with our metabolism for excess fat and aids in our physical and mental growth.  Tests have shown that the children who do not receive enough iodine are linked to mental disabilities.   Our bodies only require a little amount of iodine.   The lack of iodine can cause mouth sores, diarrhea, weight gain, and fatigue.
Food Sources:  asparagus, dulse, lima beans,  mushrooms, squash, turnip greens, spinach, swiss chard, iodized salt, seafood and kelp.   Note: if you have an underactive thyroid, you must be careful over consuming some of the foods.
Requirements:     (Prairie Naturals Multi-Force: 300 mcg per day).

Iron is very important for our red blood cells and a good immune system and energy.  The lack of the intake of iron is related to many things:  too much phosphorus in diet, too much antacids, too much tea or coffee intake, intestinal bleeding and heavy and / or continuous menstrual cycles.  Too little and too much iron can have so many effects:
the lack of iron can cause tiredness, anemia, dizziness, hair loss, effects on the mouth and nail, obesity
too much iron can cause heart disease, liver problems, diabetes and more.
Be careful of your supplements – do you need the iron or can you get enough of it in your foods.  Some of the iron supplements can cause constipation, so you may want to try a liquid supplement.
Food Sources:    almonds, asparagus, avocado, beans, beets and beet greens, cabbage, carrots, dill weed, kale, kohlrabi, lettuce, onions, parsley, parsnips, peas, potatoes, pumpkin, radishes, romaine lettuce, rutabaga, spinach, squash, swiss chard, turnips, eggs, fish, liver, meat, poultry, whole grains, black strap molasses, brewers yeast, kelp, lentils, millet, peaches, pears, raisins, rice, sesame seeds, and several herbs.
Requirements:     (Prairie Naturals Multi-Force: none in this formula).
** it is recommended not to take iron supplements, unless you have been diagnosed as having a low iron intake.  Iron should not be taken at the same time as Vitamin E.

Magnesium is essential in enzyme activity that helps with your energy production.  Magnesium works well with calcium and potassium.  Magnesium is important for our nerve and muscle impulses.  It helps us to feel a lot more calm and lessens our nervousness and irritability.  The lack of magnesium can also effect a females menstrual cycle, to protect our arterial linings, cause kidney stones, insomnia and more.  It is important that pregnant females take a magnesium supplement during the pregnancy to avoid cerebral palacie in the baby.  Other problems that occur with the lack of magnesium are seizures, tantrums, diabetes,  hypertension, fatal cardiac arrhythmia and  irritable bowel syndrome.
Food Sources:  apples, apricots, asparagus, avocados, green beans, beets and beet greens, cabbage, carrots, dill weed, kale, kohlrabi, lettuce, onions, parsley, parsnips, peas, potatoes, pumpkin, radishes, romaine lettuce, rutabaga, spinach, squash, swiss chard, turnips, diary, nuts, millet, molasses, brewers yeast, brown rice, sesame seeds, soya beans, salmon, and black eyed peas.
Requirements:     (Prairie Naturals Multi-Force: 90 mg per day).

Manganese is essential for: blood sugar regulation, healthy nerves and the immune system.  Manganese helps with our protein & fat metabolism, bone growth, joint lubrication, our cartilage and reproduction.  Also essential for those with anemia, mothers that are nursing and good to use with B1 for a sense of well being.  The lack of Manganese can cause: confusion, hypertension, heavy perspiration, convulsions, effect the eyes and hearing, heart problems, memory loss, tremors and teeth grinding.
Food Sources:  lettuce, romaine lettuce,  spinach, swiss chard, nuts, whole grains, egg yolks, blueberries, legumes, dried peas and several herbs.
Requirements:     (Prairie Naturals Multi-Force: 6 mg per day).

(herbs and more)
 Eucalyptus
Some of the phytochemicals in Eucalyptus:  rutin, quercitrin, caffeic acid, carvone, galic acid, protocatechuic acid and more.  Antiseptic, antibiotic

Plant:  the Eucalyptus plant is found in Australia and oveer 700 species.  Some of the species can also be found in New Guinea, Indonesia.   There are 9 species that are only found outside of Australia.
Parts used: The bark, leaves and essential oils are used.

Benefits:  Used to induce sweating and relieve from sore throats, and for respiratory problems, bronchitis, laryngitis, and rheumatism.  Used as an antiseptic for wounds and to reduce swelling.  Eucalyptus is excellent as a bug repellent and has been used to clean out swamps to reduce malaria.

How to use:  The liquid oil can be mixed: 2 tsp oil to a pint of water or vegetable oil or rubbing alcohol for wounds.  Add oil to vaporizers, sauna stones to easy breathing.  Eucalyptus can be found in some lozenges, liquid medicines and rubs.  As a tea, steep a handful of fresh or dried leaves in a quart of boiling water for 20 minutes.   * should not be used without a base (water or oil) before applying to an open wound.

                                      Music

Didgeridoo: is an instrument that is classified as a aerophone. It is a long hollow tube that the player blows through. Beeswax can sometimes be found in the mouth piece.  The original Didgeridoos were made of eucalyptus.  Now they can be found with some PVC piping. Traditionally only the Indigenous men in Australia played the instrument and was joined by singing.  This instrument when played provides a multiple of harmonic resonance’s.

Shine Edgar is an amazing Didgeridoo healer.  He does have a CD and does healing with the Didgeridoo.  I had the pleasure to hear him and the Didgeridoo for the first time at one of Judy Atkins drumming circles.  The music and vibration is amazing.  When I play the Tibetan bowl the vibration is high and I really feel it in the upper part of my body.  With the didgeridoo, the vibration went through all the chakras but mostly from the heart down.  So earthy and grounding.  If you ever get the chance, take in one of Shines performances, you will be very grateful.  Shine also teaches how to play and provides healing sessions with his music.   You can find him on Face Book and see where some of his performances are.   He is located in Vancouver BC and also practices in Alberta.
