                              Reflexology
Our feet are walked on every day, bare the weight of our bodies and get stuff into shoes and other foot wear.  In order to treat and pamper our feet, foot reflexology is one of the most relaxing, energizing and pampering forms of healing and relaxing.  This is done by gentle stimulation of different areas of the feet (also hands and ears) to promote healing through the meridians that connect to the body’s organs along with enhancing the elimination of toxins.

FOOT REFLEXOLOGY:  is an ancient art practiced by early Egyptians. Foot Reflexology is a science founded on the basis that areas of the feet are comprised of zones and reflex areas that correspond to all glands, organs, and bodily systems. Foot reflexology is a technique whereby pressure is applied to these areas resulting in stress reduction by using thumb, finger and hand methods.   Using foot reflexology promotes physiological improvements in the body.  Foot Reflexology restores natural balance and revitalization.

            Reflexology will provide the following:
Improved circulation:  Our circulation is improved when the stress in our systems is released and we are able to relax.  The oxygen and nutrients in the blood is able to flow more freely and increase the function of the cardiovascular vessels.
Release of Toxins: Since reflexology works with improving the health of the organs, it also helps to release the toxins in the body and increase the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the organs in distress.  Sometimes when working on the feet the practitioner and client can feel crystals in the feet being broken up, which helps to release those toxins.  It is recommended that you do not drink alcohol within 24 hours of a reflexology treatment: the client could get quit sick during the session (a disbelieving client is now a believer).
Reduces stress and provides a deep relaxation:  Many times a client will fall asleep during a session, even the most chatty person who has a hard time to relax.  Over 7,000 nerves are stimulated during a reflexology treatment, opening and clearing the neural pathways.  Each part of the body is worked with, reenergized and feeling better after a good nights sleep.  The energy is the body starts to flow a lot freer and reaching area that have been restricted before the treatment.

Reading a section in “Feet First” by Laura Norman and Thomas Cowan, reconfirmed exactly how I felt during a reflexology treatment.  Even though I love practicing Reiki and other forms of healing, I find doing a reflexology session the most relaxing of them all.  I am able to sit down and just get immersed into the treatment and smile as soon as the client falls asleep.

Diagnosis with reflexology is forbidden, like many of the other wholistic practices.  If a practitioner feels that something may be wrong, he / she can only recommend that the client get a check up from their family doctor.
In summary:  Reflexology is an amazing form of healing physically, mentally and spiritually.  It can help to sooth the tired over worked feet and pamper the one that walks on those wonderful feet.  Reflexology also helps to get the energy flowing better in our bodies.

11:11 - A Wake up Call From Beyond
by Pamela Shelly

Over the years, especially in my holistic practice I have been asked many times what 11:11 means as many people were noticing this over and over in their lives. The mother of my last boyfriend told me it was significant to her but to Jim it meant nothing. I just decided to call these people members of the 11:11’er club.

With a variety of information in print and on the internet including chat rooms and particularly the book “11:11 The Time Prompt Phenomenon” by Marie D. Jones and Larry Flaxman I want to share the following.

It may be associated with a type of transformational portal or doorway that opens during this period. It may mean “Pay Attention” and some people do receive a message or something significant happening at that exact time. It seems to be happening more and more often to people even to the point they wake up at the same time every night and the clock is 11:11pm.

Geller’s website is filled with mysteries about the number 11, namely 11:11. “If you multiply 1111 by 1111 you get 1234321, representing a pyramid, and the number 11 is a sacred number of the pyramid with the proportions of the Great Pyramid being of the ratio 7:11. 11 is also a number harmonious with pi. “11:11 does not allow you to forget about the larger questions because it is always popping back into your reality, acting as a catalyst to distract our consciousness away from the sublime and onto something far more challenging.”

For many years, starting in my early 20’s I remember noticing the 11:11 number mainly on the digital clocks and it always made me smile. I had no idea what the significance was until years later when I was attending a Sound Healing workshop and at lunchtime I started talking to another participant. The next thing I knew she was offering to lend me her two books by intuitive Solara on 11:11 called “11:11 – Inside the Doorway.” Solara states that “the endless reoccurrences of times that include the digits 0 and 1 represent a “positive connection and a gateway to the mysteries of the universe and beyond.” Solara also writes “11:11 is a pre-encoded trigger placed within our cellular memory banks prior to our descent into matter, which, when activated, signifies that our time of completion is near. The 11:11 is hereby being activated.” She goes on to explain the origins of 11:11 and its purveyors, the many lucky souls who have been awakened from the first Doorway of the 11:11 activation, which she claims occurred on December 31, 1986, followed by the Harmonic Convergence of 1987, the Earth Link of 1998, and the last big Activation of Earth Day, 1990. Apparently, the big opening of the Doorway started on January 11, 1992, and is set to close 20 years from that date. She states, “The Doorway of the 11:11 opens once and closes once. Only One may pass through. This One is our Unified Presence, the Many as One. The 11:11 opened on January 11, 1992, and closes on December 31, 2011.

During this time, presently incarnate beings called “Star-Borne” will begin to serve in the ongoing “transmutation of matter” and assist the planet and humanity through this period of activated “remembering.” We, Solara states, will go through the Eleven Energy Gates, which are “stepping-up stations to new plateaus of awareness.” The book describes a very detailed vision of this process, during which we will all receive our “sealed orders,” encoded within our cellular memory until the time of revelation is upon us. As these orders are unsealed, we will all remember whom we are and where we came from, and thus move toward what Solara believes is the true “Oneness” of reality.

On the metaphysical website Crystalinks.com, 11:11 time prompts are thought of as a digital code. “Physical reality is a consciousness program created by digital codes. Numbers, numeric codes, define our existence. Human DNA, our genetic memory, is encoded to be triggered by digital codes at specific times and frequencies.” The author goes on to explain that these codes will awaken the mind to the evolution of consciousness. The idea of consciousness as a program suggests a link to Information Theory (IT), which proposes that the Universe behaves like a giant computer.

What prompted me to write about the 11:11 is when I was recently in a meditation I was guided to hold an event on that day as well as what was to take place. The investment was to be $111.11 per person and when I added up the tax and total I noticed they had significant numbers in them as well!! The tax has three 3’s which is the number of the Ascended Masters and the total has four 4’s which is the number representing the Angelic Realm.

(how to keep your family allergy & toxin free)\
Had the following in a newsletter last year and really want to share this again…..

It floors me when I see people spray bug spray everywhere when applying it to their bodies.    Or spray it in the air, to show that they have some???  Just visited Skin Deep, a site that lists all the toxins in products.  There are two major mosquito spray products for the human body to use, yet studies have shown that the ingredients in this spray can be linked to allergies, immunotoxiciy, cancer, developmental and reproductive problems, problems for the organs, irritation for the skin, eyes, lungs, and bad for skin absorption.

The products contain: N,n-Diethyl-Meta-Toluamide, Related Isomers, Inert Ingredients (95%), Ethyl Alcohol, and Fragrance.  We all know that even the fragrances placed into products are bad for our neurological development.  Then there is a warning not to use near acetate, rayon, or varnished surfaces like cars.   Now, if this, I assume will eat through these products, what happens when our body absorbs the product?  What does it eat through in us?  From 1 – 10 (highest) on the hazard list on the Skin Deep site, it rates at a 7.

How about using an essential oil?  I did a search on Lavender (as I was told it is a good bug spray for the body).  Lavender came in really low (1 – 2) for toxicity and is very beneficial wholistically.  For use against mosquitoes, for better sleep, and so much more.  How about Eucalyptus? Or Lemon Grass?  Another good natural bug repellant and would have more benefits internally (though used externally) than other options.  In some areas where one is exposed to lots of mosquitoes, the participants in events will eat bananas before going on the journey to keep bugs away.  And those around you won’t be subjected to chemicals in their air space.

For further research on safe sunscreens and bug repellants, try Environmental Working Group   http://www.ewg.org/ They also do a lot of research for us and provide some safer options.

(food alternatives & health)
Several years ago, a friend shared with me that when the earth was created, there was a remedy for every possible illness provided by the plants of the earth….  and I truly believe it.  I want to share this email as it came from a well respected friend.

*Asparagus -- Who knew ?*
My Mom had been taking the full-stalk canned styleasparagus that she pureed and she took 4 tablespoons in the morning and 4 tablespoons later in the day. She did this for over a month. She is on chemo pills for Stage 3 lung cancer in the pleural area and her cancer cell count went from 386 down to 125 as of this past week.
Her oncologist said she does not need to see him for 3 months.

THE ARTICLE:*
Several years ago, I had a man seeking asparagus for a friend who had cancer. He gave me a photocopied copy of an article, entitled, Asparagus for cancer 'printed in Cancer News Journal, December 1979. I will share it here, just as it was shared with me: I am a biochemist, and have specialized in the relation of diet to health or over 50 years. Several years ago, I learned of the discovery of Richard R. Vensal, D.D.S. that asparagus might cure cancer. Since then, I have worked with him on his project We have accumulated a number of favorable case histories. Here are a few examples:

Case No. 1,* A man with an almost hopeless case of Hodgkin's disease (cancer of the lymph glands) who was completely incapacitated. Within 1 year of starting the asparagus therapy, his doctors were unable to detect any signs of cancer, and he was back on a schedule of strenuous exercise.
Case No. 2*, a successful businessman 68 years old who suffered from cancer of the bladder for 16 years. After years of medical treatments, including radiation without improvement, he went on asparagus. Within 3 months, examinations revealed that his bladder tumor had disappeared and that his kidneys were normal.
Case No. 3,* a man who had lung cancer. On March 5th 1971, he was put on the operating table where they found lung cancer so widely spread that it was inoperable.  The surgeon sewed him up and declared his case hopeless. On April 5th he heard about the Asparagus therapy and immediately started taking it By August,
x-ray pictures revealed that all signs of the cancer had disappeared..  He is back at his regular business routine.*
Case No. 4,* a woman who was troubled for a number of years with skin cancer. She finally developed different skin cancers which were diagnosed by the acting specialist as advanced. Within 3 months after starting on asparagus, her skin specialist said that her skin looked fine and no more skin lesions. This woman reported that the asparagus therapy also cured her kidney disease, which started in 1949. She had over 10 operations for kidney stones, and was receiving government disability payments for an inoperable, terminal, kidney condition. She attributes the cure of this kidney trouble entirely to the asparagus.

I was not surprised at this result, as `The elements of materia medica', edited in1854 by a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania , stated that asparagus was used as a popular remedy for kidney stones. He even referred to experiments, in 1739, on the power of asparagus in dissolving stones. Note the dates! We would have other case histories but the medical establishment has interfered with our obtaining some of the records. I am therefore appealing to readers to spread this good news and help us to gather a large number of case histories that will overwhelm the medical skeptics about this unbelievably simple and natural remedy.

Asparagus should be cooked before using, and therefore canned asparagus is just as good as fresh. I have corresponded with the two leading canners of asparagus, Giant and Stokely, and I am satisfied that these brands contain no pesticides or preservatives. Place the cooked asparagus in a blender and liquefy to make a puree, and store in the refrigerator. Give the patient 4 full tablespoons twice daily, morning and evening. Patients usually show some improvement in 2-4 weeks.

Asparagus contains a good supply of protein called* histones*, which are believed to be active in controlling cell growth.. For that reason, I believe asparagus can be said to contain a substance that I call *cell growth Normalizer*. That accounts for its action on cancer and in acting as a general body tonic. In any event, regardless of theory, asparagus used as we suggest, is a harmless substance. The FDA cannot prevent you from using it and it may do you much good. It has been reported by the US National Cancer Institute, that asparagus is the highest tested food containing* glutathione*, which is considered one of the body's most potent anticarcinogens and antioxidants.

                                      Gardening

We have had a slow start to our summer… but still excited to get out there and get my hands dirty in the gardens.  Have some plants in the green house (houses about 7 tomatoe plants) waiting to get into the gardens and I have a few seeds planted.  This year has been hard trying to get my tomatoes to go, so I am finding other things to get going and more on the perennial side.  Picked up a spearmint plant and have a few herb seeds growing to either dry or freeze for the colder months.

Try experimenting this year.  A couple of years ago I was guided to freeze my dill instead of drying it.  The taste of the frozen dill is a lot stronger and smells fresher than the dried dill.   I want to get peppermint growing by the front doors to discourage the ants from coming in.  Also the mice do not like peppermint or spearmint, along with having some to dry for tea.  Nothing beats peppermint tea for a sore tummy or after a big dinner.   When ever I can, I split up the Saskatoons bushes and spread them around the yard.  Wonderful berry for pies, jams and smoothies.  The kids love eating frozen berries during the winter, or putting some on ice cream.  I have a hard time growing strawberries, the ants keep on taking them over.

Get my strawberries from Bucklers U Pick farm north of Cochrane.  I like the idea that the farm does not use pesticides on the plants and they have not traveled for miles to get here.   If we get onto the internet, Alberta Farm Fresh has a lot of the local producers and each province in Canada has a site to help in the research.  Will see what I can find for the next newsletter.

Each year I try to find something new to grow for use in the kitchen and to preserve for the winter.  We can freeze, dry, dehydrate, cold store (carrots, spuds, etc.) and process the foods from our gardens or what we get when we visit the local farms.  We should always find a way to use the fresh food right away while the nutrients are still good.  Eat some to enjoy the harvest, preserve the rest for the colder months.  If you have any success stories or ideas, please lets share them as we all get back to the basics and better health.
